Our Hospice Team
At Redwood Hospice, we believe that the organization needs to take care of those who take care of our patients. Our team is built of people striving to create a truly different hospice experience – one that values creativity, compassion, and expertise – especially from those providing daily attention and care.
Darius K Joshi, MD
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Joshi has always enjoyed being around the elderly, as reflected in his closeness to his grandmother. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1993, he did his medical residency in Michigan. Dr. Joshi found his calling and pursed Fellowship training in Geriatric medicine. He obtained Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care Medicine. About seven years ago, he also found his home in California.
With over twenty years of experience and practice in a wide variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, and senior nursing facilities, Dr. Joshi has cared for a lot of people and families who are struggling with end-of-life situations. He decided to open a Hospice organization because he recognized a need. A need from hospice patients and families to be cared for by a physician who actively partners with them throughout the end-of-life journey. Dr. Joshi loves hiking and often goes out on hikes alone, to immerse himself in the peaceful, healing aspects of nature.
